People have been putting up some gorgeous pictures of the moon. I knew I wasn't going to get a photo like that. I'm limited by my skill and camera. But when Frank suggested we go out into the country Sunday evening to get a good look at the blood moon, I took my camera and tripod along anyway.
We drove out to Deep Creek and intended to turn into a field that Frank had in mind, but as we were almost to the field, we passed the cemetery and went in there instead. It was such a beautiful evening. We spent a couple of hours sitting and looking at the moon and the gorgeous sky full of stars and free of light pollution. I set up the camera and took a number of photos. Most are zoomed in as far as my little camera can (4x optical zoom). I have two or three where I forgot to zoom in before I took the photo. The moon is just a tiny dot in the center. This is a crop of one of the zoomed in ones. The original I posted here:
I was pleasantly surprised that I got anything that looked like the moon. I couldn't get anything worth saving when it went into the full eclipse. This one was taken when it was just a bit short of full.
