Joan Robillard @joansmor has given me this get pushed challenge: "...take a photograph in natural light but...use the light to advantage." This is a warmup photo taken with the iPod this morning. As I walked from the parking lot to the office on campus where I work, I couldn't help noticing the morning sun coming from behind me and the shadows it was producing on this back entrance stairway to McCain Auditorium. Through the week I hope to look further at the natural light around me and the effects it has on the composition of my shots.
I really like the simplicity of this image and yet all the patterns and lines it contains. Well done on the challenge you have used the light magnificently! FAV

Very nice image. I really like the lines, shapes and shadows and the fact that there are so many different textures in this shot too - metal, concrete, wood, etc. FAV
