The house that I grew up in is for sale and my brother and I jumped at the chance to go inside after all these years. My folks sold the house in 1978/79 and none of us had been in there since. One of our cousins is a realtor and she arranged a showing for us and my mom last night (Wed 2/15). Upstairs in the room my sister and I shared, we were telling my niece how hot that room got in daytime in the Kansas summer with NINE windows (almost all the wall space!) But at night we'd open all those windows and turn on a big behemoth of an attic fan that filled the doorway to the attic space off the bedroom. With the door to downstairs open, it cooled the whole house. Well, last night my brother and I took aside the cover of the doorway to the attic and that fan is STILL THERE!
Since I had not yet posted a "flash of red" for the 14th, I knew this would be that touch of red.
How wonderful that you had the chance to go in the house again and find the fan after all these years. Cool that you and your brother did this together too.
