So...the dinosaurs decided to have a meeting and began in the house. http://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2017-05-02 They were in the front hall, but moved outside to the back stoop when they noticed me taking pictures from the upstairs hallway above. They're not usually so private about things, but today was different. Anyway. I apologized for the intrusion and, to smooth things over, gave them a snack for their meeting -- mini chocolate chips and raisins.
They let me take a couple of photos before they began. I was trying to make this a half and half photo for the May theme I'm putting in my Alternates album, but I couldn't seem to edit it to a neat square format. I admit I did sneak a few other photos from way up on the flat back roof and one of them did make a half and half image -- as well as a birds eye view shot for the technique challenge ending today. That can be found here: http://365project.org/mcsiegle/alternates/2017-05-04 The dinosaurs didn't see me up there and I couldn't really hear what was being said, so I felt I wasn't actually snooping in that way.
Later they told me some of what was discussed. Ironically, the second item on the agenda was the lack of photo sessions lately. They miss the more frequent modeling they used to do with me. I get busy and it often ends up getting put off, but I'll try to take more time with them.
Also on their agenda was "field trip" (which, from the sound of what they told me, should be described as "road trip"). Summer's coming and they really want to get out and go somewhere. That agenda item got combined with another -- "march for science." Some of them are keen to head to Washington DC or some other large metropolitan center and take part in one of the marches that have been happening. I think that's unlikely; perhaps a letter writing campaign to our legislators would be a suitable substitute. They have definite opinions on climate change. That and North Korea seem to have tapped into some very real underlying fear of extinction for humans and other species. And you can't argue with the authority of dinosaurs' opinions on that.
Well, it is again past my bedtime -- a few minutes before midnight. This is the second writing of this. I finished it a bit earlier, almost falling asleep as I did, and somehow (I guess) managed to leave the page before I pressed "save this photo." Aargh!
@dsp2 Dinah, I just got done writing it up, practically falling asleep as I did, and somehow managed, I guess, to leave the page without pressing "post comment" Aargh!
@grammyn@farmreporter Thanks. I meant to tag you last night when I got the narrative written. @dsp2 They did head in to eat shortly after the meeting finished. I think the chocolate and raisin refreshments I gave them dampened the appetites of the two Apatosaurus youngsters and at least one of the Triceratops Twins. Note to self: try to provide healthier snacks.
Thanks for tagging me back to the story. It sounded most interesting but I felt your frustration for having to write it twice. In any case it's excellent
Well if there's food involved I'm in. I've had to rewrite stuff myself, never never quite sure it's as fresh as the first time. Now for longer posts, I usually use word. Been burnt too many times.
