Men by mcsiegle

Men

Since I still don't know enough about what I'm doing with my camera and what settings will get me the exposure I want in any particular situation, I often get first shots that are very overexposed or underexposed. This was taken a couple of weeks ago and tonight I was playing with it -- adjusted all sorts of things on this overexposed shot (let's call it "high key" as that sounds more intentional), and decided I liked it better than the ones I subsequently took with the more appropriate exposure settings. I've labeled it "Men" because of the sign on the door seen through the stairs. I didn't notice that until I turned it to B&W and started experimenting. These are the stairs that lead up to the backstage area of the Columbian Theatre in Wamego (Kansas), taken on a day they were working on tech details for set, lighting etc for the production of "Gypsy" currently being performed -- last weekend, this weekend, and next weekend. My sister-in-law and I are going on Sunday. Frank has three bit parts and gets two comps.
I like this, the high keyness with the touch of whimsy.

Intentional or not I like the way it has turned out. The end result is all that matters anyway Mary . How you got there is less important.
