My get pushed challenge from Laura @la_photographic was light painting. I finally got around to experimenting with glow sticks, with mixed results. No great art -- no big surprise. Kind of fun once I pushed myself to set up the tripod (which I hate to do). I'm posting two collages I made from the results.

I'm your get-pushed partner for the upcoming week. I saw a few days ago you were attempting to get some sharp silhouettes in a sunset photo. Your push this week is to do a silhouette. Your Coolpix has a "sunset" mode, so you can try that. Or, if you want to give it a go, you can try some manual settings per the article's instructions. I think the key to getting your silhouette sharp, though, is a smaller aperture. Your aperture was pretty open at f 3.7 in "Gathering Dark on the Konza Prairie" which would give you the blurrier silhouettes in the background.
