Since @grammyn Katy’s birthday is today, I asked the dinosaurs to help me with a photo shoot to celebrate it. Most of them eagerly welcomed the opportunity to raise their voices in song (and help eat the cupcakes).
There was one dinosaur who was otherwise occupied by watching some dangerous downhill Olympic event on TV and (a bit rudely IMO) declared that the birthday couldn't be that big a deal as she obviously wasn't even ONE million years old. I won't shame him by naming names. But that started a bit of a squabble, with another countering with "What does he know? 100 million is a better bench mark." The Neanderthal Men thought that they, personally, were being discounted. I told them all to stow it! We're celebrating Katy's birthday and Valentine's Day, and more love is called for on both occasions. (I almost, but not quite, pointed out to them that they all are vintage museum replicas that were new when Frank acquired them as a boy, and he was born in 1940, not a million years ago. But I try to avoid bringing that up.)
Of course, they didn't recognize Katy by this picture. When I told them she was Stwo and Hedy Helwig's special friend, there was a lot more interest in getting back to the photo shoot, and I got an apology later from the one dinosaur-who-shall-remain-nameless. So....and a one, and a two...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday, dear Katy,
Happy Birthday to you!
From all of us.
PS the little plastic heart on the cupcake says "SWEET" which describes Katy to a T -- she is absolutely the sweetest of all the sweet people I know here on 365.
OH I am so late with this - so sorry - been very busy with visiting family and family visiting. I found a quote from Ansel Adams recently in a blog https://www.citiesatdawn.com/blog/ by Anthony Epes.
"A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense and is thereby a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.” Ansel Adams
Anthony wrote: "Any light that is doing something and has some sense of expression. How can you tell that? Easy! If you look at it and it makes you feel something, then that’s interesting light! " My challenge to you is to capture some light that makes us all feel something. Have fun.
@kiwinanna Your ‘busyness’ is quite understandable, as you said you’d been to a family funeral. I offer my sincere sympathy to your family.
The challenge is a good one. It will (hopefully) force me out of the rushed and trivial shooting I!ve been doing lately. I’ll do some thinking. Stay tuned.
I am so so sorry that I'm just now getting to this Mary! What a beautiful and thoughtful birthday card for me! I love the conversation it started with the dinosaurs. Thank you for having my back on that one! I am totally impressed that you remember my toy friends too! This helped make it a very special birthday for me. Thanks again
@vesna0210 thank you so much for those kind wishes
