For the One Week Only challenge. Tuesday is HD. This was a good one for me as I usually avoid HD entirely. My camera can't do it in-camera and on Ribbet.com the HD effect looks so heavy handed when first applied that I don't even want to bother experimenting with adjusting the settings they have (radius, strength, fade) in order to lessen the extreme over-sharpened look I see. But I have wanted to try to mimic the look of old linen postcards and figured HD might achieve that. Today I stopped in Aggieville on the way home from Aqua Aerobics. If there had been more time (Frank was waiting for me to come home for dinner) and it wasn't so chilly, I might have headed downtown, but settled for Aggieville. I just wanted a business district. I think I'm fairly well pleased with this, though it's not the perfect scene. I like the On The Wild Side store sign. Not thrilled with the shadow "selfie" included -- not intentionally. This is the second version I did. The first went further with the HD effect -- more over-sharpened. It was kind of cool in a funky way, but decidedly on the side of "Bad HD" vs. "Good HD" that I saw in one image example I found when I googled HD for image results.
well done
