On their way out

I can’t remember what kind of tree the spiky seed pods come from. At the specific time of the year they litter the sidewalks under those trees. I love their shape and texture, but I have too much stuff lying around the house, so I’m going to take them outside. There will be plenty more next year.

I call them gumballs from the sweet gum tree. I like the contrast between these spiky & rough balls and the smooth and gently textured background.
