The Return of the Brush Pile—plus

Actually it never completely went away. Now it’s growing again, and likely to continue. I’ve got lots more stuff to whack.
It looks very invasive.

It looks like you might have some squash or some thing growing there as a volunteer! Parts of my yard look like this as well so it’s nice to know I’m not alone in this never ending battle!

Mary, it looks like you might be growing squash. I see the trumpet flowers and some yellow flowers in the garden.

@wakelys @grammyn @randystreat Yes, I know I’m growing squash or pumpkin or gourds there. For the time being, I’m letting it do it’s thing, with a little persuasion to not go across the walk. There’s one in the front too, under the bird feeders there. I had to get rid of another one that started directly across the front yard. Mowing would have been impossible. Sue, neither the squash (or whatever) nor the brush pile is particularly invasive. But that brush pile hopefully will grow as I whack or dig more of the truly invasive jungle that parts of our yard have become. Things on their way to becoming trees, vines that were hiding the Surprise Lilies as they came up, (I uncovered them in the nick of time before they flowered) and the infamous Pokeweed! The yellow in the background is one of the kinds of flowers that actually survived and thrived in our failed attempt at “meadow.” The only survivors were all tall yellow things. Goldenrod will flower next. Poor Goldenrod — so unfairly blamed for hay fever etc.

We are partners in the get pushed challenge this week. I'm not seeing many black and white pictures, so how about trying a black and white of a “mundane” object or scene?

@salza Thanks. I’ll look around for mundane objects that would make gook B&W images.
