Waiting patiently for March to roll around again. Oh yeah, we do have a flag of Ireland too (but St. Patrick gets enough attention) and Isle of Man, Scotland, and Brittany.
My Celtophile husband has gotten us involved with the Welsh and Cornish Societies down here in Kansas (and in Minnesota before we moved) and the Manx society up there. We've been to Scottish fairs in both states, etc etc etc. In Minneapolis, he and a few others had a musical group they called "Woad". They played and sang in all six Celtic languages.
Neither of us can carry on a conversation in any of those languages, but both of us love to sing in Welsh -- enjoyed rehearsing and performing with the North American Welsh Choir (Cor Cymry Gogledd America) with which we sang in St. David's Cathedral in 2002. My dream is to get back there on my own someday, without a regimented choir schedule. When I win the lottery (Ha!) we'll tour Wales and Cornwall and do genealogical research on my McCoy, Irvine, Williams, Jones, and Ormston ancestors in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England. Sigh...
This "selfie" is probably the first I have taken that wasn't in front of a mirror with a camera covering my face LOL. It took quite a few tries with the 10 second delay, as I (like many others) DON'T like the way I look in photos, especially if the photo is all blurry.
The inclusion of the text is a result of my FINALLY looking up the install disk for Photoshop Elements to get the registration number so I could register and activate the software that has been on our computer since it came bundled with our scanner (longer ago than I'd like to admit). I'm resolved to play with it until I get further acquainted with its...well...elements.
Happy Flag Day to my fellow Americans! We love the Stars and Stripes as well.
