I have lately become aware of the fact that we can borrow various media (digital books, audio books, music, movies, etc) from Hoopla via our public library. Our library's subscription to that service entitles us to borrow up to five items per month. When it came up to the end of February and I still could borrow a couple more items, I went in search of short kids' works for pure mindless entertainment, and happened on the Boxcar Children series in audiobook format. My eye's lit on the one entitled "Dinosaur Mystery." Well, of course anything with the word 'dinosaur' in the title has to be good, and so I borrowed it partly for myself, and partly to entertain the younger dinosaurs. I got them all gathered round the iPod today, and New Neanderthal Man agreed to chaperone so I didn't have to be there the whole time (I had already listened to it once.) Before it started, the Triceratops Twins complained that it was too juvenile for them. But once it began I noticed that none of them got up and left. Though they might not want to admit it, they are still young enough to enjoy that kind of story. I managed to sneak a shot of the group. The poor dinosaurs and the two Neanderthal men have not had a photo shoot with me in a coon's age.
