There's this fantastically gnarly tree that I pass by on my way home from work. I've taken pictures of it before. But since I walked home the other day instead of riding my bike, I took the opportunity to photograph it again. Here are some of its parts. The overlay is actually something I posted a bit back from another tree, but I wanted some texture to the background.
@randystreat Kathy, I'm glad you like the background. I did the collage in ribbet.com and added the vignette, and then took that to picmonkey and ended up using that other picture as an overlay, or texture, and played with the different kinds (add, subtract, multiply, darken, difference, etc etc), then faded it out to a good degree.
@grammyn The parts are interesting, aren't they. I struggle with how to get a collage that's not a straight grid look interesting and pleasing and balanced. Not entirely satisfied here, but the vignette and background/overlay helped. Thanks!
