@beryl Innocent! I’m innocent! And surely Frank’s mother wouldn’t have done anything like that! It must go back a couple more generations (on his dad’s side of the family BTW) before you get to the people who were either cruel and mouse-hating—or had just stored something in that drawer they didn’t need and forgot about for years and years. That’s it! I‘ll bet they were horrified and sooo sorry when they finally opened it one day, saw the desperately gnawed escape hole and realized what they had done.
