I am a retired engineering faculty member who has had a long-standing interest in photography. I am particularly drawn to landscape and nature photography....
@jgpittenger Dear Jane, I too am amazed at this, but a birding guide recently explained that these birds (1) don't weigh that much since their bodies are mostly made up of feathers and (2) they have hard feet. I guess you need hard feet or very good shoes to stand on a cactus!
