The Culpeppers of Goudhurst

These are wooden life-life effigies of Sir Alexander Culpepper and Lady Culpepper, dating from Henry VIII's reign in Goudhurst Church. It is very difficult to photograph as they are lying down on a high stone sill, but the Church very kindly provides a small step ladder to allow a better view. But, being 5'4" it is still a bit of a challenge for me!!! The colours are amazing considering their age.
