There appears to be a discussion as to which term should be used for these little rings. Either way, they were a wedding present to my grandparents from their bridesmaid, Miss Queenie Robinson and are engraved with their initials. We do use them occasionally, I love the little elegant box and the elegance that comes with them!
Serviette sounds French so is passe, napkin sounds British so is good (I remember from a tv programme about snobbery from years ago).
What a lovely gift and capture of it.
What a lovely memento, and very well shot. You have captured the sheen on the silver rings perfectly. We used to call them serviettes, but i think a more modern term is napkin
A beautiful keepsake. I have used both terms. Going back to our RAF days, if we were at a dining in night in the Officers Mess the term was napkin, but if we were in a café in town while doing our shopping well then we used a serviette. ha ha. so I guess these would definitely be napkin rings because they are very classy.
Always thought napkin was fabric while the other was paper..but would have to consult google to be sure! Very nice shot, great colours, lighting and handwriting.
What a lovely gift and capture of it.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Yes we do too at times.
