Remarkably, this branch line is still in existence and after the five people boarded the two carriage train towards Rye, I was left completely alone as the station is not manned. It has an eerie feel , being in the middle of nowhere, especially on a misty morning such as today. There is a sense of turning back time when standing on the platform.
@quietpurplehaze Thank you Hazel. Hope you enjoyed Rye. The little path is the only way to the platform on that side. No bridge - cross the road and down the path!!
Plenty of character in this place. A lovely shot. Railway lines are something I'm really wanting to photograph for my project at some point. And unlike @fbailey , I wouldn't mind being there at night :)
This shot brought back memories for me. It reminds me of the railway station where I lived as a teenager. That station wasn't manned either and it was quite creepy and scary when I used to embark from the train and walk down the path similar to this on my walk home at night. It was very scary if I was the only person to leave the train at the station.
Really like the way you composed this catching so much of the surroundings. Brings back lots of memories of when I was little and use to leave from a station similar to this in New York. Thanks for the smile.
I really like this shot. As has been said above, it's a scene from the past. The inclusion of the bicycle indicates that someone is around, or maybe it has been left whilst they have gone off for the day. We will never know, but its nice to weave a story around a photograph
