Paw by mej2011

Paw

I was attempting to get Miss KitKat off my bed so that I could make it. Usually whenever I bring my camera around, the animals scurry away. Not this time.
This shot is SOOC
Nothing cuter than kitty-cat paws:)

I like the colour version - pink toe pads are always so sweet!

@pamelaf @pwallis
Thanks Pam and Paula!

I prefer this photo! Colour says so much more to me than B&W!! Like I never even noticed his claws in the B&W version!

So cute!

@5unflow3r @ladydi53
Thanks! I think I might try a selective color and see how I like that.
December 10th, 2011
Beautiful details. Very soft shows well against background.

@shuterfly
Thanks!
December 10th, 2011
Yep. I definitely like the color version better. And nice capture! You did a great job for having to little motivation lately!

@jasonbarnette
Thanks! We won't talk about the bokeh attempts I did today though. lol.
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 Tell me what happened this time. What did you try? What were your camera settings?
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
Everything except the lights were way too dark and the lights still just looked like Christmas lights. I took 19 pictures. The "best" one was f/3.2
1/320 with an ISO of 400. The Worst photo was f/5.0 1/200 with an ISO of 400.
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 OK...an aperture of f/3.2 was pretty good! Now...you just need to work on that manual focus. Remember: as out of focus as you can make it, which means you need to focus on something really, really close to the camera. Did you try that?
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
Close the camera, bu far away from the lights?
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 Yes. Exactly. The one I did the other day, I had the clock about 15' from the lights, but the camera was only 5' from the clock.
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
Then no. I tried focusing on one of the ornaments that was on the tree. Hmmm. I'll have to figure something out. Can I use an object to focus on, and then remove it after I've half clicked? Otherwise, I would need to edit out the object, right?
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 No no no. See...I hate photos that are just blurry orbs of light with no point in focus. Seriously? I can do that in Photoshop from scratch in less than five minutes, so where is the photography skill? Bokeh looks better when you have something in the foreground in focus. Do you have a Santa figurine? Or...set a bulb on a table 10' from the tree, focus on the bulb but keep it in the bottom-right of the photo. You'll have fantastic bokeh but also something in focus to concentrate on.
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
I do have a little santa figurine. I will move my table from my room into the living room tomorrow to try that. Thanks!
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 I might try the same with my P&S tomorrow and see what I can get, too.
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
I'm sure it'll be great and mine will be....not. lol.
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 Sssssh! I don't wanna hear that!
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
It's just reality.
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 Shut it! I've seen you do amazing.
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
But bokeh is tricky.
December 11th, 2011
@mej2011 It is...which should make you feel AWESOME when you master it.
December 11th, 2011
@jasonbarnette
And I will WHEN I master it.
December 11th, 2011
love this one, prefer the color version. Great details, neat focus!
December 11th, 2011
@janmaki
Thanks! I still haven't made up my mind yet, as to which one I like better.
December 11th, 2011
Lovely - well taken.
December 12th, 2011
@netkonnexion
Thank You!
