Not much inspiration today so I decided to just photograph my day. Wii billards, wii fishing, Wii Oregon Trail, something warm to drink and a book.
I don't like the composition here at all, but wasn't sure what else to do. I thought about standing the book up and photographing that way, but there is a price tag that I couldn't get rid of.
Editing consisted of black and white and 1960's effect in Picnik. Then, I went to Photoscape and used a lighting effect.
Now that I've uploaded this shot, I'm having a bit of deja vu. I wonder if I've photographed this book before and just don't remember. Oh well.
Hmm. Maybe, you could have put all of the things, the mug and the Wii remote, on top of the book? It would have covered the title, but you see that quite nicely on the spine.

I thought about that actually, I thought it might be too cluttered looking. That, and I have a pet peeve about putting mugs on top of books. Maybe I'll re-shoot that way and post it for comparison. Thanks for the suggestion!
Sounds like a relaxing day:) I'm no good with setting up shots like this, so I can't really speak to the composition either. I kind of like it to look less staged though? More casually set aside and then quickly snapped in a photograph?
@janmaki
See. I WISH I could take credit and say "well, that is exactly why I composed the shot this way", but I would be lying. I hadn't thought of that. See, this is why I keep you around. :)

Are you asking me if you like it less staged, or telling me? lol.
