On the 19th day of Christmas, Santa gave to me! by mej2011

On the 19th day of Christmas, Santa gave to me!

Probably a piece of Laffy Taffy. Just decided to take one of the cat figurines I got over the summer and place inside the advent calendar I got this year.

Editing consisted of Picmonkey's Tranquil effect.
Very cute...people always give me laffy taffy because of my name!

@taffy
Thanks! I hope to photograph the entire calendar as it's very pretty. I love laffy taffy, they just might be my favorite non chocolate candy.

I always assumed Taffy was just your screen name. Interesting.

Also, congratulations on having 3 photos currently on the Popular page!

@mej2011 Wow -- didn't know there were three there -- I'm going to go look!! And yes, Taffy is my real name -- a nickname given to me by my father, after his Irish setter, as a joke when I was born. But, it stuck for decades!

Almost uploaded a photo of a bird I was trying to identify, was going to tag you for help. But decided against it. Come to find out it's an Australian bird, go figure.

@mej2011 - oh where is your bird?

It's not my bird, really. It was a picture in a magazine that I was obsessing about. lol. Anyways, here is the discussion that I ended up posting it too. http://www.whatbird.com/forum/index.php?/topic/111998-what-bird-literally-i-have-no-idea/

@mej2011 - vegemite on toast here. Off to look at your bird.

@mej2011 - Red beaked version of the Long Tailed Finch. There is a yellow beaked version too. Sub-species they are. I've never seen one, they live west of where I do (in Australia).

@bobfoto
Oh! I must google the Yellow Beaked! I had not come across it during my search. Regardless, it is a cute bird and I now want one.

@mej2011 - try a Zebra Finch, they are quite common as pets and are now bred worldwide. Gouldian Finches are rare in the wild but are a beautiful bred pet.

@bobfoto
I have a friend who owns a Zebra Finch, pretty bird. I thought about getting one, but it would upset my cats. I looked up the Gouldian Finch and don't care for them, they're too colorful. lol.
