That's really pretty. I too had no idea what they looked like, nor even that there is more than one kind

@seacreature I think this is H. perforatum which is the medicinal one and not native to US.
There are 5 or 6 native species in my area and most of them are endangered. They all seem to have similar looking flowers but different overall plant shape. One is a bush!
