Victorian Silos - Day 3

We managed another 3 silos today along with a visit to Dimboola for lunch.
I enjoyed each silo for different reasons but I was particularly taken by the story that accompanied the "Invisible Man" silo at Arkona.
This was taken from the information sign.

Why is Roley invisible?

"Although he's not here anymore his memory and legacy remains, still
inspiring future generations.
When coming up with a concept for the Arkona silo, artist Sam Bates (AKA Smug) became aware of local legend Roley Klinge. Roley was renowned for his involvement in the local tennis club, and spent much of his time coaching younger generations of players.
He is fondly remembered.
Roley was instantly recognisable by his horn rimmed glasses and terry towelling hat, and Smug saw these iconic symbols as a way of portraying Roley in a unique way.
By depicting Roley as an 'invisible man, the artwork acknowledges Roley's passing, while emphasising the legacy he left behind.
These are so interesting to see as a collection
