That's Close Enough _DSC4332

A big thank you to everyone who commented and faved, "My Mum Thinks I'm Beautiful", getting to both PP and TP.
Today was spent helping Matthew and Melanie, move into their new home. We had three cars and trailers on the go and all did a couple of trips. I'm looking forward to an early night.
Graham had to rescue this bobtail from one of their dogs, who was showing it a bit too much interest. I should have asked him to put it onto the lawn, so that I had a better background contrast.
Great shot. So much detail.

Nice shot, just a bit scary...

@thresheg Thanks Graham. I'm glad he wasn't in a hurry to move away. It gave me a chance to get several shots.

@gijsje Thanks Bep. He does look a bit scary and I've been told they do have a nasty bite, but they are not really aggressive.

Great photo! Side note: You and I really lead different lives which I guess makes sense since we're on opposite sides of the world.

Fabulous shot, he is a beauty. Excellent timing to get his tongue in the shot.

Well caught.

@stiggle Thanks Anja. I really like these guys, but this is the first time I've been able to get a shot like this. I think he was probably a bit cold, because he wasn't attempting to move away.

@pyrrhula Thanks Ferry. I think he would help to keep the snails away if he lived in my garden :)

@hermann Thanks Sally, it was great to be able to get so close to him without him taking off.

@deborah63 He looks scarier than he actually was. I think he was cold because he mostly just sat there.

@yeshanghai Thanks, I'm glad you like him.

@mackbeth Thanks. Where I live is much quieter than NYC :) We are only 5 minutes drive to the ocean, but I'm definitely not a diver. ( Too many sharks for my liking).

@happysnaps Thanks Valerie, it does look that way, but it was all show.

@onewing Thanks Babs, it took quite a few shots to get it. As usually happens, he arced up when I moved, which of course meant that I didn't have my camera ready.

@sgtpepper Thanks, he is a rather lovely specimen.

@merrelyn I look forward to seeing more of your surrounds. Very cool to see how opposites live.
