Not a great day, my computer updated to Windows 10 while I was out taking photos this afternoon. I had planned on checking my photos because nothing had really appealed to me and then heading out for sunset. Needless to say that didn't happen. After several hours of frustration, I'm just about ready to ditch Windows 10. If anyone has anything good to say about it, I'd like to hear it.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs for yesterday's shot, which put it on both TP and PP :))
Wonderful perspective, what a view.
I haven't put windows 10 on my laptop, I'm still using windows 7. I feel for you, things like that can be very frustrating.
frustrating day for sure...i use windows 10 but can't help you...i'm sure there's someone here who knows what to do...hope it works out soon...congrats on TP and PP...well deserved...this shot is a beautiful image of a beach that goes on forever...ahhh...wish i was there... :o)
Lovely composition and clarity. I could write a thesis on Windows 10 - not complimentary - but suffice it to say after a lot of wasted time we decided to keep it as we understand support for Windows 7 (our previous operating system) will be withdrawn in 2020. We now have to adjust the brightness of our screen a few seconds after each time we sign on as it dims to an unacceptable level. Nothing to be done about it as this aspect is incompatible with our laptop, 3 years old, apparently the equivalent of antediluvian in technology terms. I think it speaks volumes that Windows 10 is offered free of charge to existing Windows 7 and 8.1 users and there is the facility to return to these systems easily within one month. I also couldn't find the recycle bin for ages but thanks to another member of the pubic putting instructions on a forum I've now sorted that. Any help offered online from Microsoft engineers is complicated, difficult to follow and in 'pidgin' English. Merrelyn, thanks for mentioning Windows 10 as I feel a bit better now!!!!!!
@quietpurplehaze I didn't even notice Hazel. It took me ages to work out how to download the photos on my SD card. Did you change your photo files to Windows 10? I haven't yet and I'm not sure that I want to.
Photos are not a problem except I'm uploading straight from SD card to FastStone because (wait for it - I can't yet find Windows Photo Gallery!!!)
In fact I've been meaning to do this as I don't use Windows Photo Gallery for editing at all. I have been forced to change to FastStone now.
Think you need to go sit on that seat and relax :) There was a warning here about not accepting the Windows 10 upgrade - so pleased I just get rid of the offer every time it pops up! btw- terrific shot and view :)
Good luck with your computer problems Merrelyn. All my devices are Apple, my daughter who worked in IT recommend Apple for it's ease of use and I am ever so grateful when I hear of problems with windows. Love my MacBook Pro. Beautiful vista BTW :)
Windows 10 messed up my photos more than anything else so I went back to 8.1. Google "I want 8.1 back" and there are lots of videos to help. My computer still wants to upgrade and I may lose eventually.
Lovely shot. Know what you mean about Windows 10. I am still using Windows 7, but David has put 10 on his desktop and our laptop too. There were a few shouts and screams when he was installing it though. Apparently you have to put "10 things to change when installing windows 10" into Google and then pick the ones you want. I think he has got it sorted now, it's not as good as Windows 7, but he did say it is better than "Windows 2000" though which was a complete lemon.
Great shot.
I had Windows 10 for a few months now...dont really like it. To find my files or to download pictures. Also have to go to Files Explorer (click on the bottom left had corner - the 4 squares)....if there is a quickly way let me know. Also I just created lots of shortcut icons on my desktop.
