Day 2, Coolgardie to Madura
Today was another long day of driving. I'm glad that we called into the Gorge, as we drove out of Coolgardie, because there wasn't much else to photograph. I enjoy the drive across The Nullarbor Plain, part of which is the longest (146.6 kms or 90 miles) straight stretch of road in Australia. The Nullarbor is officially the world's largest piece of limestone (200,000 square kms and 1,200 kms from east to west at its furthest point. The Nullarbor Plain is the section of southern land between Norseman in Western Australia and Ceduna in South Australia. Ceduna is another 625kms from Madura and there are some pretty spots, some with views over the Great Australian Bite to check out on the way.
My husband has driven it, but I never have, I guess we will do it together one day. I really like the layers of colour in this and the reflections in the water. Stay safe on your travels!
I am looking forward to your photos..given you are going to cross the Nullarbor. We did it last year...and just loved it. Hope you get reasonable reception to post some pics on the way over. nice colour in this photo
Great reflection, the picture would enlarge if the dam was full. Lovelt shot.
