King's Canyon

Day 21 King's Canyon to Yulara
Last night's storm delayed our start this morning. We were not able to get out of the campsite until just 11am because the the road was flooded. After the water had receded enough, the mud also had to be cleared off the road, before anyone could leave the campground. Recent rains have also damaged some of the walkways and stairways in King's Canyon. We were able to walk part way along the creek, often through running water, but the end of the creek walk was closed, because the creek was in flood and rockfalls had smashed the steps to the viewing platform. We didn't tackle the rim walk as it was too late by the time we got out of the campsite and I was concerned that it might still be a bit too slippery.
Really cool reflections. Nice one.

That's a real pity that you didn't get to do the rim walk Merrelyn. IMO it is the best attraction in the centre.

Beautiful capture. The rim walk is spectacular, we walked it clockwise and then anticlockwise to make the most of the lighting :)

Another great shot. You are lucky to get it with water there - we did not see that when we were there many years ago.

Such a peaceful picture, despite a somewhat harrowing description!
