On the way to Lugo, we stopped at Las Medulas. The Romans mined this area for alluvial gold. It is estimated that 500 tonnes of gold was removed from the 1st to 4th centuries. We walked for several kilometres, through chestnut groves while admiring the spectacular scenery,
