This is one of the shells that I picked up on one of many walks along the beautiful beaches of the Cocos - Keeling Islands.
Our tropical getaway ended all too soon. We arrived home just after 2 this morning. Now comes the task of sorting through the thousands of photos that I took and hopefully getting time to put a photobook together.
Thank you all for your lovely comments on my holiday photos. I hope to catch up over the next few days.
What a beautiful shell, did you have any trouble getting it through Border Control (or whatever Quarantine's called now)? I brought home a couple of small shells and an equally small piece of dead coral from Fiji and got ticked off although I was allowed to keep my souvenirs in the end.
@golftragic I had no trouble bringing shells home, but Border Control was interesting. Even though both Cocos and Christmas Islands are part of Australia, we had to fill in customs declaration forms for incoming passengers.
Beautiful shell, so glad you enjoyed your trip. Have fun with your processing, we are still poughing through our Australian photos which we hope to finish before we return next year! Back to Perth in March and hope we can catch up.
