For Rainbow2018
This is part of a beautiful handmade picture given to us many years ago, by a Japanese guest. It was made by her grandmother and all of the pieces were individually glued. The flowers and leaves seem to be made from some kind of thick tissue paper.
@onewing It's lovely Babs, I have 3 different designs, but this is my favourite. I really should have them framed, but I haven't managed to get around to it :)
I love this Merrelyn, very typical Japanese. It is made from rice paper. When we were living in Tokyo, I did a lot of traditional Japanese handicrafts. This was one of them ;-)
I would bet the papers are kozo papers Merrelyn - an expensive and traditional paper made in Japan and much loved by artists for its beauty and strength...and it tears well giving those lovely edges. they also come in a vast array of colours and weights..and I see one that is a variegated colour - quite typical of their washi papers.
