This Year's Festival Bull .....DSCN1720

for Dardanup's Bull and Barrel Festival. Each year a local timber yard donates the wood for the bull. It is designed and constructed by a local man, then taken in pieces to the town oval where it is assembled. The festival concludes with the burning of the bull which was quite a spectacle. It's going to take me a while to sort through the 500 odd photos that I took while it burnt.
Wow, what a great looking statue and interesting information.

Nice capture. A pity to burn such an attractive sculpture but I guess that's half the attraction.

@mittens @gijsje @seattlite @mave @ellida @gilbertwood @hermann @agedrunner @narayani @milaniet @happysnaps @golftragic @onewing We were talking to the fellow who builds the bulls. They are very different each year and take him about a week to build. There are always adjustments that need to be made when its erected at the oval because he builds it in sections and hopes that it will all fit.
