Today, I figured out what to do with the bottle of sand we brought home from our vacation last year. I used it as mulch on one of my houseplants. After a little bit of research, I found out that sand is really good at controlling gnats. Now, I might consider overwintering more of my container plants indoors. I just need to get more sand!
