I found this male house finch fledgling in our driveway (of course!) late afternoon yesterday. I noticed it was limping a little bit so I decided to let it stay in a box for a night or else it would be dinner for one of the three cats who likes to hang around in our yard. It was hard to let him go this morning since I wasn't sure if he was ready. He even tripped and then stopped moving away from me for a couple of minutes. He looked at me like he wanted me to pick him up but I resisted the urge and kinda gave him a little push instead. I figured if he really needs me, I'll see him again.
