A Most Unusual Name

This butterfly, called a Question Mark, was just sitting on a leaf enjoying the sunshine I guess. Had a prettier shot of the Viceroy, but don't get to see this one very often. Thought this might be new to some of you.

@kathiecb I'm glad you asked that because I wondered but hadn't bothered to look it up. Now I know! The silver mark on the underside of the hindwing is broken into two parts, a curved line and a dot, creating a ?-shaped mark that gives the species its common name.
