Almost walked up on this hawk sitting in the tree right near the end of the little creek bridge - I froze, slowly moved the camera up, got this shot, then stood hoping he'd turn around at least partly. Didn't happen. Off he went the other way. No real idea what kind of hawk other than not terribly big.
He looks rather gigantic! That profile of his beak adds "intimidating" to the description as well. Impressive birds, even if they are on the hunt for our sweet smaller birds.
