Clipped his tail a little - was anticipating him going faster (like he started out) but I hadn't been able to catch him at all before he hit the safety of the leaves to disappear in so I was pleased.
You have written your caption as "he". However,this is a female Red bellied Woodpecker. The gray head is the indicator. On the male, the red neck would continue to the top of the head.
