Finally caught one positioned so that I could see this Flicker's red spot, his mustache, and his black V. Hard to catch him that way. Seen so few birds on my morning walks lately.

Fabulous capture! Such striking birds, those Flickers. This one looks exceptionally gorgeous in front of that amazing blue sky. Looks more like a Summer sky than a December one. We haven't even been wearing coats! Hard to believe it's mid-December.
