It wasn't until we were 2/3 up the mountain that we found snow (fortunately the main highway had been plowed already). They got almost 12" in places though mostly 4-8" where I walked. If you walked in the snow you were ok (had forgotten boots of course and the wind was fierce) but the ice in areas was quite slick. That's when I stuck with shooting out the top of the Subaru. Took nearly 100 pictures - It was gorgeous (and we didn't have to shovel a bit!)
