Walking the Plank

Not the best shot, but I so rarely catch a hawk within range - this red-tailed hawk was surprisingly still.

They can also be quite high up, so difficult to catch. Great light on this one, and it's got a very focused expression.

Such fearsome birds. I find everything about them intriguing except for the fact they keep coming to my yard now and catching my precious little sparrows. Grrrrr. I know they are hungry just like every other bird out there but I wish they didn't prey on my bird feeder guests. You got a great shot of this hawk!
