That "finally" is because he finally stayed still long enough for me to get a shot! I've watched him for several weeks - only shows up in the afternoon and in the same place ( Hated to get any closer as I had watched a snake slithering down there last week.) but would never land. Not the most scenic blue dasher but he was mine! Guess you call that determination!
Nice shot --your patience paid off. I have found that pre-focusing on the stem and being ready when they alight is a good way to grab a shot of a damselfly or dragonfly. They are quick.
