Not like the Montana pictures I love, but this elk from Boxley, Arkansas is my closest thing. There are a herd of elk is this wildlife protected area, but this is the first time I've been able to catch them. This was shot from the highway about 400 yards away. A large group of them (maybe 30 or so) were laying in the sun, including several males with nice racks of antlers. Lots of cars pulled over to watch - lots of cameras clicking! Lighting terrible for shooting but wasn't going to miss this chance.
