This is a female Diana Fritillary - common in the Southern Ozark Mountains the book says - but the first one that I've found. Looks quite similar to the Spicebush Swallowtail - without the tails.
@falcon11 This one was taken right after lunch, but it wasn't very sunny out. We had gone up to Mt. Magazine for lunch with a visiting 89 year old friend - who kept up well on seeing everything! Hope that's me in 15 more years.
