First gulf fritillary of the year -have seen several fly over but this was the first to finally land where I could get a shot. Am hearing word from several people around here that the snakes are quite plentiful this year - that may make me hesitate about where I walk to shoot!
@sansjuan Unfortunately, all kinds. I know they killed one copperhead last week down by the creek I'm always piddling around in! I can't identify one from another so I have to assume I don't want to be around him. If I can see him from a distance first, they don't scare me - but up close I don't like!

There are a fair amount of snakes where I live too, and I found the best thing to do if I find them, is simply to leave them, and walk the other way. People who try to kill snakes, are always the ones who land up getting hurt!!!
