Today's Hawk - last week's sky! by milaniet

Today's Hawk - last week's sky!

Didn't do anything with the hawk way on top of the post, but just couldn't make myself happy with another grey sky behind him. Do like photoshop's ease of changing the sky to one from last week.
Great shot

Very clever, big improvement!

that sky suits the majestic bird that he is!

Awesome shot, great choice on the sky. I guess I need photoshop because I've had such horrible skys lately. Don't know if Lightroom 5, Paintshop or ACDsee can do that. fav

Nicely done. No one would have known if you hadn't given your secret away!

Just awesome Milanie and I'm still waiting for a bit of blue sky! Your sky gives me an idea but I have to buy PhotoShop and learn how to do all that fancy stuff. You have excellent editing skills and you chose your sky well love the fluffy clouds! FAV

@skskunky All skills self taught that's for sure. There's probably plenty more that could be done if I knew how. But this is just a case of keeping a file of blue skies you shoot when you find a nice one, then highlighting the background you want to change, bring up your blue sky and select it and copy it, go back to your original and make a copy of it then paste the sky copy into it. Done in far less time than it took to tell it.

I'm impressed! Great result! I may have to get photoshop one of these days!
February 6th, 2015
That's impressive. I never knew you could change a whole sky like that. What version of photoshop do you have? I have an old version that's not user friendly at all.

I'm afraid I have to read those instructions 100 times before they sink in....First off I have to buy Photo Shop because I don't have an editing program. Thanks for your tip will start to collect pictures of blue skies when they come around, ha,ha......I will copy our instructions and file them away for later! Thanks again Milanie!

Absolutely stunning and an instant Fav. I haven't learnt how to do that but I really must try as it makes such a difference
February 6th, 2015
incredible. i do not know how to photoshop and keep saying i can't learn it but then, i see something like this, and i get recharged. wish i had someone who could sit by my side and walk me through it. aaaahhhhh!
February 6th, 2015
Well aren't you a clever girl to change the sky. I love all the textures in this.big huge fav coming from here!!
February 6th, 2015
I bet Mr. Hawk wished it would've actually been blue skies like this. I wonder if gray days make it easier for them to hunt as they're not as likely to cast a shadow and scare off their dinner.

@skstein I'm using Photoshop 9 but my biggest aide has been Scott Kelby's book on Photoshop elements 9 - he has one for each version - his writing is SO easy to follow

@milaniet thanks. I will look him up and see if his book is available over here.
