This one bush (no others down there) growing at the base of the little creek has always attracted the Viceroy butterfly about this time of year. Usually late in the day to early evening you may find one or two - but only on this bush. Wonder what that bush is!
Splendid shot. That is what comes from going out a lot....you know where to look for various animals and plants. My info says habitat for the Viceroy is edges of swamps, lakes, rivers, and larval food is willows, aspens, cottonwoods, and some fruit trees.
