Scrambled Up to Safety

This probably brought the most smiles of the trip. The 3 cubs now in the tree had been munching their way on the ground with Mama not far away. Next thing I see is the last little one scrambling up the tree and Mama parks herself at the base. Seems there were 2 yearlings in the brush and Mom was all about protecting those cubs! They eventually fell asleep up there - so cute!

I have a friend here that is desperately trying to get a bear shot- he can never find them or they come through his yard when he is not home! He'd be so jealous of this shot! How fun- it looks like a little bear high-rise!
