While looking around the house for trinkets and treasures, came across this small (smaller than a regular teaspoon today) spoon I had forgotten about. It belonged to my great grandmother - which puts it fairly old :) - close to 150 years maybe. I can tell by the H for Habel on the end.. I'm really enjoying this month.
back in those days they make such a nice ones. Is this a real silver kind? My parents owned a jewelry store and we were selling some of those fancy spoons .
It's a beautiful spoon, and my mother-in-law also had a set of silver espresso spoons engraved, too. I'm thinking that because the handle is what's particularly beautiful and shows off the family H significance, perhaps a different angle will show it more prominently. Right now, my eye goes to the spoon part. I turned the computer and saw that a vertical would be nice as another alternative angle.
@milaniet -- You flipped the image! I t thought my eyes were doing tricks to my feeble memory when ai saw that the H was also turned. I think the dominance of the spoon part is how it (because of its shape) angles closer to the viewer. I think you might want to change the plane by turning your camera angle? then the H handle would be more prominent .
What a treasure! And you captured it so well with the black and white emphasizing every wonderful, lovely detail. Lucky you to have this heirloom and to recognize the value of its history.
And congrats on TT
