Spotted him sitting on a gate rail - the colors caught my eye. Thought he might have been asleep, but he flew away after I took my shot up nice and close. BOB.

@radiogirl Just used a higher aperture setting (for me) and practically in his face! That plain field behind him seems to have helped.

@radiogirl If you are talking about the RX10, there is a macro setting in the SCN options. It's not a true macro, but it can be useful.

@annepann yes I was talking about the RX10, I was wondering if Milanie had used the macro setting for her shot.
I did notice the macro setting in the SCN options and tried it today on a flower, I don’t take many macro photos but wanted to try it and was surprised that there wasn’t a specific macro setting on this camera.
Summertime is a great time to experiment with macro photos.
