Fluffed to the Max

It was quite cold and windy when this little purple finch showed up - first I've seen in a year. With all that fluffing, he looked twice his size!

Great close up! This poor little guy looks like he has the eye disease that has been going around. We didn’t have any purple or house finches for years because of it. New York state requested we stop feeding the birds this past year because it is very communicable. I only just put the feeders back a couple weeks ago, and have had quite a few finches.
