Did the Barbed Wire Kill the Tree?

Anyone passing by would definitely have to wonder what on earth I was shooting - does that qualify for eotb? I think my husband thought so. Found this barbed wire running through an old tree -(which kind of looks like a saddle.) Shot with a 50mm with a GND filter applied.
Strange subject. My first impression was a roast on the spit. I can see the saddle in there too.

That is most unique.

Cool capture. It's amazing the way the trees will grow around things like that.

Even looks like blood dripping onto the wire. Very effective shot.

You pose a good question about the wire. I like all the browns in this picture.

Looks like the tree ate the fence

I thought it was roast meat on a spit! Very interesting capture.

Interessing and intrigante shot. Just a technic question : why a GND filter instead a ISO 100-200 ? Just to improve my technic.

The joy of photography, capturing the unusual.

@ducasrouge Mainly because I was fooling around in post processing and wanted to darken part of it a little - nothing technical - more a whim.
